What is an ICS file and why include it in an email?
ICS (or invite.ics) — is a standard calendar invitation file format. It is supported by Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Microsoft Outlook and most other calendar apps.
When a recipient sees a invite.ics file in their email — they simply click on it, and the event automatically appears in their calendar with the name, date, time and location. This is especially useful for webinars, workshops, online meetings and offline events.
